Planning from Arcadia

What Arcadia travelers should know

Which airport works best from Arcadia?

Arcadia gives you a real choice. Ontario International is often a straightforward drive east on the 210, and Hollywood Burbank is an easy option to the west. LAX has the greatest range of international flights, but it is the longest trip from the San Gabriel Valley. The Metro A Line can help for part of a journey toward downtown. We look at the whole trip before we recommend an airport, including how far you will drive after a long flight home.

Long journeys for several generations

Travel with parents and grandparents needs a gentler plan. We look for sensible connection times, request airport assistance where needed and avoid arrivals that leave older relatives waiting around for hotel rooms. A short stopover can also break a very long trip into two easier flights. Our flight team can compare routes across the Pacific, and our group travel service keeps larger family bookings together. See our family reunion guide for advice on planning for different ages.

Planning at a distance

Arcadia is about 17 miles from our Burbank office, so most planning happens by phone and email. You will still deal with one specialist, who keeps your dates, passports and preferences on file. Japan in autumn, Bali’s rice terraces and Mediterranean cruises are all good examples of trips that benefit from careful planning, and our custom itinerary service builds them around you. Send us an outline through the trip planner, or call (818) 478-7200.

When to go, and how long to stay

On long-haul trips, the length of your stay matters as much as the destination. Crossing many time zones can take a few days to recover from, so a one-week trip to Asia may feel short. Ten to fourteen days gives you room to rest, especially with older relatives. Japan is at its most comfortable in spring and autumn, while Bali’s drier months usually fall in the middle of the year. Europe’s shoulder seasons offer gentler weather and easier sightseeing. Tell us how many days you have, and we will suggest how far to go and how many stops make sense. Sometimes the best advice is to see fewer places and enjoy them properly.
